NEW RCD T-SHIRT

The Reno County Democrats "THINK BLUE" t-shirt that was introduced 5 years ago was a huge success with over 150 sold. With new members and new ideas we are taking orders for an updated version for a $15 suggested donation. Shirts are available in sizes SM, MD, LR, 2X, and 3X. For an additional $5 charge you can get a special order shirt with long sleeves, or without the RCD front logo to represent Democrats from across the state. We have reached a quarter of the number to qualify for the minimum order level. Our intial target for delivery is mid-October depending on how quickly orders are received. Pre-payment is preferred but not required. Just send name, size(s), contact information and any special order preference to renodemo@earthlink.net or RCD - PO Box 622 - Hutchinson, KS 67504. Join us in showing Kansas that ours is the party of common sense and moderation.

SIGN UP STARTS FOR KDP STATE FAIR BOOTH

In just a few short weeks the Kansas State Fair will be in full swing. This is one of the most effective methods of reaching out to Kansans especially from the central and western parts of the state. If you are interested in participating at the booth we are starting to schedule now. Three hour shifts are available 9-12, 12-3, 3-6 and 6-9 each day of the fair. Volunteers are provided with free admission ticket. Please do not sign up unless you are COMMITTED to being there. We're out to make a good impression so intelligent exchange of ideas is great but leave heated debates for another time and place. For further information see contact information on this site.

RENO COUNTY DEMOCRATS COME THROUGH AGAIN

Success is becoming a habit with RCD events. Thanks to the efforts and cooperation of our reliable volunteers we enjoyed a great evening of sharing ideas, meeting new people and adding to funds for future projects. Special guest of honor Representative Paul Davis spoke of the challenges facing the state under the political control of the most extreme elements Kansas has experienced in recent memory.

Pictured is Pretty Prairie Mayor Curt Miller auctioning a pair of tickets to a K.C.Chiefs/St. Louis Rams game generously donated by Jon Powell. Other items in a silent auction included fresh produce, books, homemade bread and political memorabilia. Another highlight was the drawing for a hand-crafted lap quilt that has become a tradition at these major events.

If you were unable to attend this event you will have another opportunity on October 15th when RCDemocrats will sponsor the public showing of a film at the Historic Fox Theatre. A reception with appetizer/dessert buffet will be held in the lobby prior to the film. Watch for more details coming soon.

STAND UP - SPEAK OUT

There is no shortage of outrage against the cuts instituted under "Sammy and the Slashers" or against the blatant discrimination against citizens being demonstrated and worse, advocated by some members of the legislature. But it's not enough to recognize this inequality. Change will only come if we speak, act and when the time comes, vote to correct the injustices. Join with other involved citizens on Saturday August 6th, noon at the Capitol building in Topeka. Our strength and power come with by joining together.
